【AppWorks x Uber】
Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting a delegation of product managers from Uber at AppWorks. Every year, a handful of PMs are curated from a pool of over 2,500 internal applicants and sent on an international tour of select markets that Uber is active in to understand the variety of needs and product requirements unique to local users around the globe.
This is the first time they've visited Taiwan, and rightly so. The country now represents the largest and fastest growing market for Uber in North Asia, spanning multiple business segments from Rides to Eats. Overcoming the complexity of the regulatory environment and effectively catering to an extremely digitally savvy user base has also produced several interesting case studies that could serve to bolster the company's presence in other Asian markets across the region.
We were happy to invite several members of our community including Benjamin Wu of iCHEF 資廚, Jeffrey Wu of WeMo Scooter, and Mike Chen of KKday to represent Taiwan's startup ecosystem and share about the opportunities, nuances, and best practices of operating in the Taiwanese market.
It was also great to hear about the initiatives that Uber is currently undertaking to create an even more seamless experience for riders and stakeholders alike. Excited to see the technological innovations roll out to this part of the world soon.
